Chicago Extruded Metal Alloys
Alloys that have copper as their principle component include both bronze and brass. They are highly valued for their resistance to corrosion, strength and ductility. Pure copper has the best electrical and thermal conductivity of any commercial metal available today. However, when alloyed with other metals, copper can take on special properties that make it uniquely valuable in specific industrial applications. There are over 400 different alloys of copper commonly available today, each with different properties. But even these can be fine-tuned to bring out additional properties. At CXM, we have some of the most knowledgeable metallurgists in the world ready to consult with you about your needs and find or even develop an alloy that’s right for your next project. For starters, we’ve listed some of them below.
